How Your Rates Are Calculated?
GRV x Rate in the dollar = Your Rates to pay
VALUER GENERAL - How your GRV is determined?
The Valuer General may determine that a 3x1 property in Dumbleyung townsite could attract a rent, after basic expenses, of $200 per week.
Rent of $200 per week multiplied by 52 weeks per year gives a Gross Rental Value of $10,400.
GRV = $200.00 X 52 = $10,400.00
RATES TO PAY
The Council will determine a rate in the dollar to calculate against the Gross Rental Value.
A GRV of $10,400 multiplied by the rate in the dollar of 0.1159 gives the value of rates for the property of $1,205.36.
Rates = $10,400 x 0.1159 = $1,205.36 to pay
Gross Rental Value Rate in the $ 11.5959 cents
Unimproved Value Rate in the $ 0.9473 cents
Minimum Rate (GRV & UV) $456.00
Instalment Administration Fee: $15.00 per instalment applies to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th instalment plus an interest charge of 5.5% on the balances remaining after the instalment dates.
