This $3.6M forms part of a total Federal Government funding package of $32.8M for the ‘Wheatbelt Regional Housing Initiative’. The Shire of Dumbleyung is one of ten Wheatbelt based Local Government Authoritiesparticipating in this important initiative.
There are 16 existing lots earmarked for headworks and site services development located in McIntyre Street, Taylor Street and Harvey Street within the eastern areas of the Dumbleyung townsite.
The main aim of the project is get these lots fully serviced to lower the cost hurdle for new housing development.
Shire President Amy Knight said, ‘This fantastic $3.6M Federal Government grant funding announcement will provide a much needed boost to increase the number of residential sites available for housing development in Dumbleyung.’
