This Townscape Project Advisory Group initiative is to improve wayfinding for tourists and visitors, promote local attractions, businesses and landmarks, enhance the town’s aesthetics and identity, and support economic activity through increased visitation.
Scope of Works:
• Design and style selection (e.g. fingerpost, map board, themed signage)
• Identification of key destinations to feature
• Site selection (high-visibility location in Main Street)
• Procurement and fabrication of signage
• Installation and site preparation
Site Selection Locations:
When choosing the exact spot, confirm:
• High visibility from pedestrians and drivers
• Near stopping points (parking/footpath)
• Clear line of sight (50–100m minimum)
• Vehicles can slow or pull over safely
• Not obstructing:
Existing signage
Intersections
Footpaths
• Adequate space for:
Footings
Maintenance access
• Compliance with Main Roads (if applicable)
